Born with the 'gift of gab', it didn't take long for Andrea to figure out she could make a career utilizing her way with her words and her instinct to be in the middle of all the action. As a sophomore in high school, she began interning at AM 920 KVEL in Vernal and found the news world offered exactly what she was seeking. Andrea then went on to graduate from the University of Utah with a Bachelors degree in Mass Communication/Public Relations. She later returned to Vernal and became the news director at Channel X94. As a recent newly wed, Andrea and her husband Shaun enjoy traveling and relaxing at home with their two dogs.

Reward Offered for Information about Poached Elk in Uintah County

Division of Wildlife officials in Vernal are asking for help from the public in solving two separate poaching cases earlier this month.

DWR Conservation Officer Bryan Clyde said the first elk was shot and killed around October 4 on Dyer Mountain. The 6x6 bull elk carcass was left to completely waste. The only hunts going on in the area at the time where the muzzle loader deer and antlerless cow elk hunts.

Uintah Wrestling Coach Wins World Championship

It's not everyday an ordinary high school coach receives a police escort through town, complete with signs, banners, and a waiting crowd of students remixing a cheer in your honor. But then again it's not every day that same coach wins a world championship.

Uintah County Prison Escapees Captured

Two state inmates who escaped from the Uintah County Jail last week using nothing more than a plastic butterknife, are back in custody this morning  in Nebraska.

According to Uintah County Undersheriff John Laursen, 31-year-old Dallas Derrick and 21-year-old Jason Braham were arrested Sunday morning after they were found walking away from a broken down car along the highway near Lancaster, Nebraska. Local law enforcement separated the pair and after hearing conflicting stories, Derrick admitted to being wanted for escape.

Wounded Veterans Fundraising Flag Stops in Vernal

An American flag that is making its way across the country made a stop Monday in Vernal. Supporters gathered at the war memorial in front of the Uintah County building to pay tribute to local fallen veterans and to support the 2012 Patriot Tour.

The Patriot Tour is an annual event of the Nation of Patriots, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for wounded veterans and their families.
