Murdered Rehab Center Staff Identified In Garfield County

Some details have emerged in the case of the murder of a rehabilitation center staff worker Tuesday in Garfield County.

Turn About Ranch is a residential treatment center for troubled youth located near Escalante, Utah.  The center addresses adolescent problems with traditional therapies, academics as well as physical exertion by having youth perform some duties on a working cattle ranch.

Tuesday, a student allegedly beat to death a male staff member and injured a female employee before stealing a company vehicle and leading Garfield County deputies on a high speed chase.

The teen was apprehended soon afterward.

The fatal victim has been identified as 61-year-old Jimmy Woolsey of Escalante.  The female victim and the 17-year-old male suspect have not been identified.
