Utah State University faculty members are debating what kind of statement to make about a $25 million donation from the billionaire Koch brothers.

The school's faculty senate is creating task force to look at how the donation will affect the school and write a resolution about it.

Charles and David Koch are known for pouring millions into conservative and libertarian causes. Their 2017 Utah State donation has been the subject of protests.

Some faculty members like professor Arthur Caplan say the task force should study how Koch brothers' donations have impacted other colleges.

But Faculty Senate president Kimberly Lott wants to limit the task force's focus to Utah State's donation.

The Charles Koch Foundation has said it supports research and ideas at more than 300 colleges and is separate from the brothers' political activities.
