Suggest a nonprofit for "Utah Cares"

Fill Out the Form

Utah Nonprofits Association, KCPW and Utah Public Radio are partnering to produce short radio spots demonstrating the positive impacts of local nonprofit organizations. This exciting effort is designed to help increase the visibility of nonprofits across the state and to inspire people to give generously to area charitable organizations and community groups that are so essential to the health and well-being of our state.

We hope to feature nonprofits with powerful stories of the work that charitable groups do to strengthen communities and enrich lives. Nonprofits wishing to be considered must submit a form which provides:

  • Name of Organization
  • Town/Area Served (or Statewide)
  • Contact Name
  • Contact Number
  • E-mail Address
  • Organization’s Web Site Address (if any)
  • Brief Description of the Work of the Organization
  • Suggested Story and Storyteller

We are interested in participant, donor, service recipient, or constituent perspectives, which may be augmented. We have found that personal stories by people who can speak comfortably about their own first-hand experiences make the best spots.

An advisory committee selects those organizations whose proposed stories best convey the contributions and human face of the sector to listeners, while reflecting a range of subject matter, geography, voice, and perspective. Those groups chosen to participate are pre-interviewed by Utah Nonprofits Association, who spearheads the story selection. Participating individuals will generally be expected to come to the KCPW or Utah Public Radio studios in Salt Lake City and Logan to record their stories. In special cases recording sessions may be scheduled in other locations.

These radio spots are designed to create a positive face for the sector as a whole, and to give people a reason to care about nonprofits and their work in Utah. This series does not seek to raise money for specific groups, or to promote nonprofit events.

Organizations that submit a story idea but are not selected may be considered anew without resubmitting a new proposed story. However, groups may submit a new form if they wish. If you would like to submit an organization please fill out this form.
