May Swenson Centennial Celebration

As part of the May Swenson Centennial celebration at Utah State University Garrison Keillor — the host and writer behind the syndicated variety show “A Prairie Home Companion” — and Katharine Coles — Utah’s former poet laureate,  will present several readings on April 25 at 7 p.m. at the Morgan Theatre in the Chase Fine Arts
Center.

The event is free, but requires a seating voucher available starting April 1 at the Caine College of the Arts Ticket Office, room 139-B in the Chase Fine Arts Center.

Access Utah Host Tom Williams interviewed March's guest for the event. Michael Sowder, an associate professor of English at Utah State University,  is out with a new book of poems, "House Under the Sun," he describes this book as a collection of spiritual meditation poems, interspersed with poems of wilderness, family and fatherhood.
