Arrest Made After Body Found In Coal Bin In Southern Utah

Garfield County Sheriff

The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 90-year-old female whose body was found on Wednesday buried under a large amount of coal in her home’s coal bin in Panguitch.

A family member of the deceased received a letter from her uncle saying her grandmother had passed away on December 25, 2017 and that he had taken care of the body.

The family member who lives in St. George, took the letter to the local sheriff’s office who then contacted Garfield County Sheriff.

Pete Marker was arrested on Wednesday for failure to report the finding of a dead human body.
