Best Of Access Utah With Craig Jessop

Wikipedia

Once again during this Fall Member Drive, we’re doing the Best of Access Utah. Today our focus is on the arts and music.

We’ll hear from Michael Ballam, Founding Director of the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theater; from Amy Anderson, Director of Outreach for the Sunshine Terrace Foundation and Spiritual Counselor with Sunshine Hospice in Logan; and composer and performer Kurt Bestor. We’ll hear some great music as well. Our special guest for the hour is Craig Jessop, Music Director of the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra. Previously in his career, Dr. Jessop was music director of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, and for many years he led musical groups in the U.S. Air Force. He is also a former Dean of the USU Caine College of the Arts.

Tom Williams worked as a part-time UPR announcer for a few years and joined Utah Public Radio full-time in 1996. He is a proud graduate of Uintah High School in Vernal and Utah State University (B. A. in Liberal Arts and Master of Business Administration.) He grew up in a family that regularly discussed everything from opera to religion to politics. He is interested in just about everything and loves to engage people in conversation, so you could say he has found the perfect job as host “Access Utah.” He and his wife Becky, live in Logan.
