Coronavirus Updates, Monday, April 13

There are 2,363 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Utah as of Monday afternoon. There was one new death over the weekend, and 201 individuals have needed hospitalization — roughly 10% of Utah’s cases.

During the press conference on Monday, state epidemiologist Angela Dunn announced a new definition for recovering from COVID-19: anyone who contracted the virus more than three weeks ago and has not passed away is considered to have recovered from the coronavirus. As of Monday afternoon, 218 Utahns have recovered.

Dunn encourages anyone with one of the following six symptoms — fever, cough, shortness of breath, muscle aches and pains, decreased sense of taste or smell, or a sore throat — seek testing immediately.
