Utah health officials confirmed 1,786 new COVID-19 cases and 15 additional deaths Wednesday. There are currently 471 Utahns hospitalized with the virus.
The rolling, seven-day average for new cases is 1,341, and the rolling average positive percentage of tested individuals is 16.2%.
According to the Tuesday update by the Utah Department of Health, school-age children account for 209 of the newly-confirmed cases. Children between ages 5-10 account for 91 of those cases.
