COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments Now Available To Utahns 16 And Older With Certain Health Conditions

Starting Monday, Utahns aged 16 and older — with certain qualifying health conditions such as chronic heart disease, liver disease or a BMI of 40 or higher — can schedule appointments to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Over the past several days, The Salt Lake County Health Department has been slowly decreasing the ages of people who can get the vaccinate. Monday marks the first day the 16+ group is eligible in Salt Lake County.

As for Utahns in other counties, it is recommended they contact their local health departments for vaccine scheduling once they’re eligible. The groups who’re eligible statewide include healthcare workers, K-12 teachers and staff, anyone 65+ years old and long-term care facility workers. Here is a complete list of conditions that qualify people over age 16 for the vaccine.
