The annual flu season is gearing up alongside the coronavirus pandemic, and Utah health officials are encouraging people to get their flu shots.
The Standard Examiner reports it's more important than ever to get the annual vaccination during the pandemic. The symptoms are often similar, so if someone is vaccinated against the flu it can help doctors as they make a diagnosis. Additionally, more flu shots mean fewer people get sick with that illness, leaving more resources available for people who get COVID-19, especially if there is a second wave of that illness.
