Flood Watch For Box Elder, Cache and Weber Counties

Wikimedia Commons

The U.S. National Weather Service issued a flood watch for much of northern Utah on Friday.

Water system managers say the heavy snow pack in Utah mountains led several northern Utah dams to shift into flood control mode to avoid too much water gushing downstream.

A rainstorm expected to pass through northern Utah over the next eight to 14 days.  Box Elder, Cache and Weber county residents are advised to prepare for flood conditions.

The flood watch is in effect from Friday through Saturday night. River flows should slow down due to colder temperatures on Sunday.

The watch mentions the South Fork of the Ogden River above the Pineview Reservoir and the Little Bear River above the Hyrum Reservoir.

Sandbags can be purchased at local retailers like Home Depot and C-A-L Ranch.
