Utah reported 1,637 new cases of Covid-19 and 11 deaths Friday. The seven-day average for positive tests was at 1,424 per day. 572 people in Utah are hospitalized with Covid-19. Hospital ICU beds are almost at 100% capacity facing all of these hospitalizations.
Health care workers are looking positively, noting that half the population is vaccinated in Utah, but the population that are unvaccinated are filling up all of the available ICU beds.
The Utah Department of Health reported that people who are unvaccinated remain at higher risk for testing positive, being hospitalized, and dying from Covid-19. Utah is nearing 3,000 deaths from Covid-19.
