Gov. Cox Gives Updates On Afghani Refugees

On Wednesday Gov. Spencer Cox gave updates about Afghani refugees coming to Utah.

According to Gov. Cox, Utah is willing and ready to take in refugees. He said although it is unknown how many and exactly when refugees will start arriving, it is important for the state to be prepared.

He said the International Rescue Committee and Catholic Community Services are the state’s resettlement agencies, and any refugees who come to the state will be resettled by one of these agencies.

Gov. Cox encouraged Utahns to donate food, money and time to help refugees. People who want to support refugees coming to the state can start with looking at information provided by the state’s resettlement agencies.
