According to a new poll from Deseret News/Hinckley Institute of Politics, Gov. Cox — whose biggest challenge since being elected last year has been the COVID-19 pandemic — continues to see high job approval ratings, likely because of his COVID-19 response. According to the poll, 65% of respondents said they approve of his job performance, while only 25% said they disapprove. When regarding his response to the pandemic specifically, 66% said they approve, while 26% said they disapprove.
The poll was made up of 1,000 registered Utah voters between April 30 and May 4. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
