On Monday evening, Governor Spencer Cox tweeted a photo showing boxes containing over a million masks in a warehouse before they are shipped out to Utah schools. Coxs say they are “sending out more than 1 million higher-quality masks to school districts” because they want to keep students safe as they return to the classroom. Cox says surgical-style masks for kids are included and will begin arriving at districts as early as Tuesday.
Grand County is the only school district in Utah that requires students to wear masks. Masks are optional in all other districts.
