Hope And Healing: When A Child Dies Of Congenital Heart Disease

Dec 11, 2019

Congenital heart disease kills more kids than all childhood cancers combined. Nola Spicer and Nicura Thompson know this first-hand.

Nola’s grandson Caden and Nicura’s son Colton lived only a short time due to heart defects. But Nola and Nicura keep their boys’ memories and legacies alive by raising awareness of congenital heart defects as members of a Healing Hearts support group.

Support for programming on Utah Public Radio comes from Intermountain Healthcare, a Utah-based not-for-profit system of 23 hospitals,160 clinics, 2,400 employed doctors and advanced practice providers, a health plans group under the name SelectHealth, and other medical services.
