Officials in Jackson, Wyoming stated a body that is “consistent” with the descriptions of Gabby Petito has been found in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, where she was last known to be. The cause of death is unknown at this time. The remains are not confirmed to definitely be Petito, but her family has been notified.
Officials say there is an ongoing investigation in the area and they ask the public to keep their distance from the forest.
Law enforcement provided the update on the investigation on Sunday at 4 p.m. MDT at the Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center in the national park.
