The Utah Climate Center has released a new inversion forecast for Utah, which predicts a return to inversion conditions through the end of next week, before a cleaning period begins mid-February.
- The end of month model run is calling for a brief return to inversion conditions beginning now and lasting through next week.
- The prediction is agreement with short and medium range forecast models which keep a stable but warm air atop the great basin region through the weekend of the 16th.
- Present forecast models have a weather event across the region in about 10 days, which coincides with the predicted clearing out of the inversion in mid-February.
