Mayor: Free Bus Rides, City Hall Renovations Coming To Utah

A Utah mayor has announced plans to offer people free public transportation rides for a limited time in St. George. The Spectrum reported Wednesday that fees will be waived for SunTran buses from March 1 to May 31, so people can offer feedback about the system. Mayor Jon Pike made the announcement during an address where he talked about plans for the city this year, including free public transportation rides, city hall renovations and hosting the upcoming Ironman world championships. Pike says public transportation expansion is expected to help combat traffic in the city, but there also plans to expand roads and construct additional traffic lights and circles.
