Navajo Nation Reports 35 New COVID-19 Cases, 3 More Deaths

Navajo Nation Tribal President Jonathan Nez says all executive branch employees will need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of September or agree to submit regular negative tests. These rules apply to full, part-time, and temporary employees, including those working for tribal enterprises such as utilities and shopping centers.

The Navajo Nation reported 35 new COVID-19 cases and three more deaths Saturday.

The latest numbers pushed the tribe’s totals to 32,504 COVID-19 cases and 1,403 known deaths since the pandemic began more than a year ago.
