Number Of Poached Animals Down Last Year, Citations Up

The numbers of animals illegally killed in Utah was slightly down in 2020 from 2019, but the number of citations for these incidents is up by almost 275 incidents.

According to the Utah Division of Wildland Resources, there were 1,080 documented cases of animals being killed illegally in Utah in 2019, and 1,056 such incidents in 2020. Despite the number of poached animals going down, citations for these incidents increased from 499 in 2019 to 773 in 2020.
