Salt Lake County offering up to $500 to vaccinated county employees

Salt Lake County leaders are moving forward with a plan to pay county employees who are vaccinated against the flu and COVID-19.The county’s plan is to pay $300 to each employee who has received a COVID-19 by Dec. 3. The county is also offering $100 more to employees who can verify that each of their family members over the age of 12 has been vaccinated. Employees who also verify they’ve received a flu shot will get an additional $100.

Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson says having a vaccinated workforce is “in the best interest of the country, our employees, and the community we serve.” She says she encourages other employers across the state to take appropriate measures to vaccinate their workers.

There are about 7,000 county employees. The county does not currently have data on how many of those employees have been vaccinated because employees have not been asked to report their status.
