Show Your Green Thumb Pride: Join the Utah Garden Challenege

To encourage self-sufficiency and sustainability the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food is challenging Utahns to grow their own food with the 10,000 Garden Challenge.

"We're trying to tap into that energy and interest in people who are agricultural-oriented but on a small basis" says Larry Lewis of the Department of Agriculture and Food. There's a growing movement to move food from personal gardens to tables. By participating in the Garden Challenge, home gardeners can document the type of produce they are growing and see where other home gardens are located around the state and what other gardeners are growing.

Everyone who registers for the Challenge will be entered into drawings for food and garden related prizes. For more information and to register your garden, go to www.utahgardenchallenge.com
