Special Election Next Week To Replace Late Rep. Shurtliff

A special election will be held later this month to replace Rep. Lawanna Shurtliff who passed away in December. The special election for House District 10, the seat Shurtliff left vacant, will be held on Jan. 16 to ensure it is filled before the legislative session begins on Jan. 19. Residents living within the district can declare their candidacy with the Utah Democratic Party until Friday at noon. Democratic delegates in House District 10 will have the opportunity to vote for Rep. Shurtliff’s replacement. More information can be found here.
