Summer Citizen Program Resuming With High Expectations

In a sign that life is returning to something like “normal” in Cache Valley, Utah State University has decided to resume its Summer Citizen program, and early indications are there will be plenty of Arizona sunbirds flocking in to partake.

“We’re not totally sure we’ll be full, but we’re expecting close to that. We’re already filling up the spaces we have available,” USU spokeswoman Amanda DeRito said this week.

 

The popular program — which provides apartments at USU and local housing complexes in conjunction with a lineup of special classes and programs — was cancelled last year at the start of the coronavirus pandemic. But this year the university decided the activities could be resumed relatively safely, especially with most seniors now vaccinated. Read the rest of the story on HJnews.com.
