It’s Summertime! The kids are out of school and life slows down for some of us and speeds up for others. Trips to favorite vacation spots and into the backcountry ramp up. Today on Access Utah, we came together as a UPR community to share ideas for summertime trips, activities, traditions and stories.
Julie Hollist Terrill, director of the Cache Valley Visitors Bureau, joined us to talk summertime plans, arts venues, hikes, campsites and everything you need to plan a Utah staycation that’s full of fun and adventure. Along with Julie, we were joined by Adrienne Decker, folk arts specialist from the Utah Division of Arts & Museums.
In our haste to explore new horizons and greener pastures, it can be easy to forget the “world-class views” that state parks have to offer right here in Utah, said Emily Moench, public relations manager for the Utah Office of Tourism.
“We have millions of people from all over the world coming to Utah,” Moench said, “but people here haven’t explored their own backyard very much.”
Moench and Tom Adams, director of the Utah Office of Outdoor Recreation, offered a hefty list of recommendations for adventurous locals and tourists alike.
