The USU College of Science is presenting a panel discussion titled “A Time to Die.” This virtual panel is tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Panelists will discuss physician-assisted dying, currently legal in a number of U.S. states, and how this practice might be implemented in Utah.
The panelists recommend that attendees view the 2011 documentary How to Die in Oregon which follows the enactment of and challenges to Oregon’s Death with Dignity Act which legalized medical aid in dying with restrictions.
Today we’ll talk with the panelists: Andy Anderson, Principal Lecturer and Pre-Health Advisor in the Department of Biology at USU; Pat Sadoski, Owner of Cache Valley Senior Consulting and Retired Hospice Nurse; and Matthew Welter, Family Practice Physician with Living Tree Medical Group and Hospice Medical Director. Utah Public Radio is the media sponsor for this event. The views expressed by the panelists do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the USU College of Science or Utah Public Radio.
