A traveling Ugandan children’s choir will perform in Logan Friday evening.

This concert will be filled with bright costumes, smiles, and songs delivering messages of hope and joy. As these children travel and perform far from home, they are not only helping kids back in Uganda, but are brightening the lives of those who they meet along the way.

This is the second year Robert and Barbara Guy have hosted the kids.

“The energy level was so high, you can’t even imagine how you’d be able to keep up with them because they just have so much energy. I remember when they were here last time, they actually got Barbara and picked her and brought her up on stage for one of the songs or for a dance scene and they wanted her to do it with them. She was a good sport about it and it was really fun to watch,” said Robert.

They were made aware of this opportunity through the First Presbyterian Church, which organizes and produces the event alongside the organization “Childcare Worldwide.”

“We get so much more from this experience than what we give. And also children in our community, I believe, it’s also very good exposure for them to experience another culture and to watch these children and to listen to them,” said Barbara.

They say audience members won’t be able to keep themselves from getting caught up in the fun and will leave knowing they contributed to a good cause.

“Yes, the joy that they gave us is never ending and we’ll always remember it and it has added so much to our lives both individually and as a couple. So yes, we will do it again,” said Barbara.

The concert will begin at 7 PM this Friday at Mt. Logan Middle School.
