Updates On Weekend Wildfires Across The State

Observers stood outside of vehicles parked along Highway 89 leading to Logan Canyon on Sunday. They watched as helicopters captured water from First Dam to douse flames burning in the Card Canyon area. The fire started Sunday and is reported to be contained after burning an estimated four acres. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

To the West, fire crews responded to another Cache County wildfire. On the east side of the Wellsville Mountains, the "Brushy Fire" burned only 1/4 of an acre. The cause of that fire is also under investigation.

A Sunday fire in the Duchesne county community of Fruitland has destroyed one home and, residents living near Parley's Canyon where a fire burned over the weekend have been allowed to return home.
