As of 12 p.m. on Thursday, Utah has 6,749 confirmed coronavirus cases. Of the state’s 160,119 total tests, 123 new cases were confirmed since Wednesday. There have been five new hospitalizations and no new deaths. Of the total confirmed cases, an estimated 3,566 Utahns have recovered.
Gov. Gary Herbert said because the state has been successful in social distancing and containment measures, Utah will begin the transition from the “orange” moderate risk category “yellow,” or low risk. The announcement was made in a press conference at 11 a.m.
