Utah Gun Company Under Fire For Making Gun Look Like A Lego Toy

Jul 15, 2021

Culper Precision, a Utah company that specializes in the customization of firearms, is no longer selling a handgun that was made to look like it was made out of LEGO bricks. The company received nation-wide backlash for the product, alleging it is unwise to make a gun look like a toy.

There isn’t a known law against making a gun look like a toy, but there are laws against making toy guns look too realistic. Culper Precisions says it sold less than 20 of this item before complying with LEGO’s demands to discontinue the item.

Culper Precision wrote a message Wednesday, stressing the importance of securing firearms from unauthorized persons.  It says that “failing to secure a firearm of any color from unauthorized persons is irresponsible” and there are “many solutions for balancing safety and readiness” all over the marketplace.
