Utah National Guard spreading awareness of sexual assault

The Utah National Guard says its working on spreading awareness of sexual assault. Officials say they will highlight the importance of sexual assault prevention during the month of November, which has been designated “Military Sexual Assault Survivors Month” by the Utah Legislature.Organization members say they are working with the Elizabeth Smart Foundation to drive these efforts. Elizabeth Smart says survivors deserve to be believed and helped and she is “excited that the Utah National Guard is taking a stand.”

 

According to the organization, there is a sexual assault every 68 seconds in the U.S. The Utah National Guard is challenging others to get in shape while bringing awareness to current sexual assault statisticus by sharing a working that be done every 68 seconds for eight rounds. The workout consists of 6 burpees, 8 squats, 6 push ups and 8 sit ups.
