Utah State University Names New Chief Fundraiser

Utah State magazine, Public Relations & Marketing

On Monday, Utah State University announced that Matthew T. White will fill the role of chief fundraiser for the university.

White is the associate vice president of Collegiate Development at Kansas State University. In a recently completed capital campaign, White helped the school raise more than $1 billion. His previous fundraising experience includes major gifts, endowments, principal gifts and annual giving.

In his new role at USU, White plans to build off of a previous fundraising endeavor by spearheading a new university-wide fundraising campaign.

USU President Noelle Cockett said it was important to the university to find a person with professional fundraising experience in higher education. Cockett also said White has land grant connections that played an important role in his selection.

White said he is passionate about working to achieve annual and long-term fundraising success. He was the vice president and chief development officer of Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He is working toward a doctorate in higher education administration and public policy at St. Louis University and expects to graduate May 2018.

White will replace Dave Cowley and Neil Abercrombie, the acting vice presidents for advancement since April 2016.
