Utah System Of Higher Education Updates COVID Testing Requirements For Students

The Utah System of Higher Education announced its new COVID-19 Intensive Testing Plan today. The plan updates the USHE’s previous strategy and requires public colleges and universities in Utah provide testing opportunities to symptomatic individuals, conduct entry tests at the start of the spring 2021 semester and administer tests to students living on or coming to campus for in-person instruction. Additionally, further options for increased focused testing are to be offered.

USU also released information today about its 2021 testing plan, which includes administering rapid antigen tests to students on all residential campuses (Logan, Price, Blanding). These tests will be given as students return to campuses the week of Jan. 19.
