Voters to Decide if Utah County's Form of Government Should Change

Svartulfr1/commons.wikimedia.org/

In a two-to-one vote on Tuesday morning, Utah County commissioners elected to allow voters to decide whether or not the county’s form of government should be updated.

Currently, the county is governed by a body of three commissioners who are elected at large.

If the measure placed on the November 2020 ballot passes, the county would switch to a mayor-council form of government after the November 2022 election.

The county mayor would be elected at large and the five council members would represent districts within the county.
