Water Break Cancels Day For Church, Temple And School In Cedar City

The Spectrum

Utah is the 2nd driest state in the union, but there was water everywhere in a section of Cedar City Tuesday, as the mainline buckled in the early morning hours.

The break caused the closure of Cove Drive, a major thoroughfare leading to Christ the King Catholic Church, the Cedar City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Cedar Middle School.

"Some of the road has been washed away," said Sargent Clint Pollock with Cedar City Police Department. "There were no injuries or further issues that had been reported to us."

The Catholic Church, the LDS Temple and the middle school all had to cancel the day’s activities, but water service was restored by late Tuesday afternoon.
