Many wildfires continue to burn across Utah, with the threat of more fire with the persisting hot and dry conditions. We’ll talk about wildfires in Utah today. Our guests will include Staci Olson, who has fought wildfires in the western U.S. for 10 years; Kait Webb with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands; and Moab Mayor Emily Niehaus.
Staci Olson has been fighting fires for 10 years. She'll share experiences with fighting wildfires in the west and some common sense tips for fire prevention. She was born and raised in Utah and is passionate about preserving the heritage and landscape of the West.
Kait Webb is Wildfire Public Information Officer with Utah Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands in the Utah Department of Natural Resources. She will discuss how wildfires are affecting our resources, the effects that has on recreation in Utah, and what we can do to prevent wildfires.
Emily Niehaus is Mayor of Moab City. She'll discuss what Moab residents are experiencing and discuss the personal effects of the wildfires.
