Fresh Folk- June 30

On the show this week, I feature the story-songs from the James Low Western Front, and the new live album from fingerstyle guitarist Richard Gilewitz. I’ll also play tracks from new releases by Beth Cahill, Chatham Street, and the Sultans of String, among other talented artists. Tune in this Saturday at 8pm to Fresh Folk on Utah Public Radio.

The summer concert season is upon us, and here’s a list of what’s happening when:  the String Cheese Incident does a show at Deer Valley on July 10th, Ringo Starr and his band perform at Usana Amphitheatre on July 11th, Lucinda Williams plays at Deer Valley on July 16th, Red Molly plays at the Gallivan Center on July 21st, Mary Chapin Carpenter performs at Kenley Amphitheatre on July 26th, and Neil Diamond does a show at Rio Tinto Stadium on July 28th

At Red Butte Garden this summer, the season continues with the B-52s and Squeeze on July 2nd, Brandi Carlisle on July 15th,  Josh Ritter on July 17th, Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers on July 19th, Los Lobos with Steve Earle on July 29th, and much more .  In Logan, Blue Sage perform at Crumb Brothers on July 14th, and Sarah Sample plays in the same venue on August 25th

Originally from Virginia, Blair has lived in Logan for 20 years. She has earned degrees in Environmental Science, Earth Science Education, and Geology. She has been involved in the folk music community for many years, producing local concerts for nearly 20 years, and hosting Fresh Folk for over a decade. Blair is an avid fan of both science and music, and attempts to indulge both sides of her brain every day. Blair and her husband share their home with 4 exceptional cats.
