UnDisciplined: online coping: the Goldilocks effect

This week on UnDisciplined we're talking about teens and their smartphones. You've likely heard about how social media is making teens more depressed, anxious and lonely. However, there are some positives to teens staying connected virtually. Intriguing new research looks at how teens are using the internet to cope with stress. 

Kathryn Modecki is an associate professor of applied psychology at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia. Her latest study was recently published in the journal Clinical Psychological Science. 

Shoshannah Buxbaum is a multimedia journalist with a passion for telling narrative-driven stories about health, politics and culture. She's reported features, news spots and a half-hour special for Utah Public Radio. Before that she spent nearly six years at NJ PBS where she worked her way up from intern to producer.
