A Utah technology company has settled a lawsuit with the booking agency for The Killers that disputed the agency's contention the rock band should be paid for a scheduled show at the firm's canceled conference.

Colleges and Universities in Utah, including the University of Utah, Utah State University, and Brigham Young University, announced Thursday they are no longer offering in-person classes for the time being. This in response to growing concerns about the spread of COVID-19, a strain of Coronavirus. Due to the rapidly changing nature of efforts to mitigate COVID-19, novel cornavirus, at Utah State University, a webpage with the most up-to-date information has been created. 

Utah government officials monitoring the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have asked local school districts to find ways to educate students at home beginning next week. COVID-19 Affects Tourist Season For Southern Utah

Each year, tourists that come into Utah infuse about $9.5 billion into the state’s economy, which provides each household in the state $1,286 of tax relief.  With the increase in restrictions due to COVID-19, this number could be affected in 2020. 

In Governor Gary Herbert’s press conference today, members of the COVID-19 Community Task force gathered to make recommendations to Utah’s institutions of public and higher education. Updates were also given about how Utah plans to go about testing people for the virus.

Utah Gov. Gary Herbert says gatherings should be limited to 100 people for at least the next two weeks in an effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. UPR's Kerry Bringhurst tells us Herbert announced the measure at at a news conference Thursday where officials from the University of Utah and Utah State University said they are canceling in-person classes and moving the rest of the semester online.
