Cache County Clerk Says Slow Count, Missing Ballots Are 'Growing Pains'

Between 1,200 and 2,000 ballots weren’t sent out to Cache County voters due to a printer malfunction, but when officials were made aware, they thought they’d corrected it.

In light of the record-breaking 2,807 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Utah Thursday, and Wednesday’s new high of 159 for the Bear River Health District, the local health department is concerned about trends in Cache County and how they're affected by events not following precautions.

In continuation of the city’s education initiatives to combat the spread of COVID-19, the Logan Municipal Council decided to “piggyback” onto the state’s “Stay safe to stay open” campaign by paying for about 15 local businesses to share virus-safety videos on social media.

Ballots from at least 78% of Cache County’s registered voters have been processed for the 2020 general election. Though there are about 6,500 ballots left to be scanned from Election Day and all results thus far are unofficial, local races in Cache County are all but wrapped up.

Logan Council Appropriates $1 Million For New Library's Design

In a unanimous vote, the four members of the Logan Municipal Council voted to appropriate $999,990 dollars to cover the architectural design fees for the new Logan Library on Tuesday — bringing the project one step closer to realization.
