Police in Utah say an armed robbery suspect on a motorcycle was shot and wounded by an officer in a town southeast of Salt Lake City.

Cottonwood Heights police said the 6:15 a.m. Tuesday shooting occurred when an officer headed to work confronted a man on a motorbike identified as a suspect in robberies at two grocery stores in Sandy.

A Utah mother who was on the phone with her 15-year-old daughter when she was murdered says they were talking about the mail when the girl started screaming.

Shauna Bagshaw said that she and her daughter Baleigh Bagshaw talked every day after school, including on May 7, the day a normal conversation turned into incomprehensible screaming.
