Update On The Peterson Hollow Fire

U.S. Forest Service

Firefighters battling a forest fire about 23 miles northeast of Logan are preparing another complication in their efforts to contain the blaze. High winds are forecasted for the end of the week, while the fire has grown by 30 acres.

Conditions in the immediate area remain very dry with low humidity. Steep terrain and dense forest areas have also proven to be a challenge. Firefighters have managed to contain about 28 percent of the fire.

Certain areas on both the Idaho and Utah sides of the Uintah-Wasatch-Cache National Forest are still closed.
