Utahns Receive Phone Messages From White Nationalist

William Johnson, a self-described white nationalist, announced that he is ending his campaign of robocalls against independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin. Utah residents began receiving recorded messages from the California lawyer earlier this week that accused McMullin of being in favor of open borders and questioned his sexuality.

While Johnson canceled the rest of his robocalls after the Trump campaign distanced itself in a statement, some Utahns still received messages from a group calling itself McMullin Is A Liar.

“Hi. I’m calling to issue a warning on Evan McMullin, who is running for president. He may not be who he says he is. Several former CIA officials say that they have never heard of him and that he has never worked for the CIA. KSL news is also reporting that McMullin is gay and that he has been lying to Mormons to trick them into voting for him. Before you waste your vote and embarrass Utah please check out McMullin. Sponsored by McMullin Is A Liar.”

It is not clear whether this second set of robocalls is connected with Johnson. McMullin told reporters that he has received death threats from white nationalists over his Mormon faith.
