Presidential Candidate, Running Mate Visit Cedar City

McMullin

Thursday, Cedar City and Southern Utah University hosted U.S. presidential candidate Evan McMullin and running mate Mindy Finn to a standing-room-only auditorium.

McMullin acknowledges that his chance of winning the presidency is virtually impossible.  But he was clear in stating his long-shot, electoral college strategy to a largely supportive crowd.

“But our goal is to block Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump because we feel that they are deeply corrupt people who would do enormous harm to our country,” McMullin said.

If no candidate receives the necessary 270 electoral votes, the decision falls to the House of Representatives, who McMullin hopes would select a more appropriate president.
