A Utah school district has named a new principal at West High School in Salt Lake City after the previous principal was fired for driving two intoxicated students home. The Salt Lake Tribune reported that the Salt Lake City School District announced that current Clayton Middle School Principal Jared Wright would be promoted into the position. Wright graduated from West High in 1998, and previously taught there. District officials say former principal Ford White was fired in January after driving two female students home after they were found intoxicated on school property instead of calling police. White says he was trying to keep students out of jail
