Utah Candidate's Campaign Headquarters Damaged By Truck
A pickup truck ran into a Utah congressional candidate’s campaign headquarters, damaging the building and destroying the majority of the campaign materials stored inside.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports the vehicle struck the headquarters of Republican Burgess Owens in Midvale around midnight Friday. Owens’ Twitter account attributes the incident to a runaway truck and says there were no injuries. Owens Communications Director Jesse Ranney says staff members left the building hours earlier. Owens is contesting the seat held by Democratic U.S. Rep. Ben McAdams. Owens Communications Director Jesse Ranney says political sabotage was not considered a factor in the accident.
