Starting Monday, Utahns who qualify for emergency rental assistance may begin filling out applications to receive up to $2,000 per month.According to FOX 13, the funds can be used toward current rent plus three months of prospective rent, past-due rent, security deposits, utilities and eligible fees.
In order to be eligible for the funding, households must have a combined income at or below 80% of the area median income and some experience with some type of instability, such receiving an eviction notice or living in unhealthy conditions due to COVID-19. In addition, someone in the household must qualify for unemployment and the applicant must reside in the household.
