Sharidean Flint, Hyde Park City’s first female mayor, died Tuesday after battling brain cancer. She was 62 years old.The city announced her death on Facebook Wednesday. The North Park Police Department said Hyde Park is grateful for “her guidance and genuine passion to serve others” and that she loved connecting with the people she came in contact with.
During Flint’s time in office, a few of her accomplishments include overseeing the development of 600 South Road and improving the water system with a new reservoir and water lines, according to the Facebook post.
She was also a strong advocate of the police department. Her family requests that instead of flowers, people donate to the North Park Police Department.
